Abstract Submission for ISCVID 2017 is Now Closed

Thank you to all authors who submitted abstracts for the 14th International Symposium on Modern Concepts in Endocarditis and Cardiovascular Infections (ISCVID) taking place in Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland on 22 – 24th June 2017. The abstracts are now in review and notifications will be sent out in May 2017.

Submission Process

The abstract submission process for ISCVID 2017 will be through an online submission portal. Submitters are requested to create an account and submit an abstract for review according to the guidelines set out on this page.

Important Dates:

Opening of abstract submission: December 2016 (CLOSED)
Closing date for submission of abstracts: 10th April 2017 (CLOSED)
Notification of acceptance of abstracts: May 2017
Deadline for accepted abstract presenters to register: 24th May 2017
Conference dates: 22nd – 24th June 2017

Presentation Format

An abstract can be submitted for presentation at the conference as one of the following:

  • Oral & Poster Presentation
  • Poster Presentation
  • Workshop

Oral & Poster Submissions:

  • Oral presentations will be 10 minutes long with 5 minutes for Q&A.
  • Presenters accepted as Oral & Poster can present a poster as well as presenting orally. If they would like to not present a poster they must inform the organiser at iscvid2017@conferencepartners.ie
  • Abstract submissions cannot be longer than 400 words.

Poster Only Submissions:

  • Poster presenters will be expected to be available during the allocated Poster Session time on the conference programme
  • The requirement for poster size is A0 in portrait orientation. Posters should be professionally printed.  Posters should not be mounted on a rigid backing as they will be displayed on poster display boards
  • Please note that all expenses for the design, printing etc. of the poster are the responsibility of the presenters
  • Abstract submissions cannot be longer than 400 words.

Workshop Submissions:

  • Workshops will be 3 hours long and will take place on 22nd June 2017.
  • The workshop template must be used to submit a workshop abstract


  • The Programme Committee may at its discretion move an accepted submission into another presentation category to ensure the continuity of the conference programme.


Abstracts must be submitted under one of the conference themes. All abstracts must be submitted in English.

  • Research
  • Microbiology and epidemiology
  • Clinical aspects including medical and surgical treatment

Submission Guidelines and Templates:

Please adhere to the following formatting guidelines when preparing abstracts for submission for ISCVID 2017. Abstracts not formatted to the following standards will not be accepted.

Submission Guidelines:

The system will ask you to input the following details:

  • Title of the abstract (word limit is 30)
  • Presentation type (Oral and Poster, Poster, Workshop)
  • Name, affiliation, and job title of lead and corresponding author
  • Name, affiliation, and job title of co-author(s)
  • Indicate the presenting author
  • Abstract papers must be no more than 400 words, excluding title, authors and affiliations
  • Only WORD files will be accepted
  • Graphs and table must be submitted within the word file
  • The presenting author must submit the disclosures for each author

How to Submit an Abstract

The presenting author must create an online account. Once you enter the online submission portal, start by creating an Account. Please keep a record of the account details you use to set up the account as you will require them to log into the ISCVID 2017 submission and registration portals. You can then add your contact details and submit your abstract in the ‘Abstract Submission’ section of the system.

IMPORTANT: Please note that you can save your submission as a draft and return to edit the submission, but once it has been submitted the abstract cannot be edited after 10 April 2017. If you require edits to be made please contact iscvid2017@conferencepartners.ie

Please follow the instructions carefully and choose an appropriate theme. Please see the abstract template provided to view the required formatting.

Submission of abstracts is now closed. 


  • Notification will be sent to authors in May 2017.
  • You will be informed whether your contribution has been:
    • accepted for oral and poster presentation
    • accepted for poster presentation
    • accepted for workshop
    • not accepted
  • When notified of acceptance, the presenting author is required to accept the offer by registering for the conference by 24 May 2017 or they shall be removed from the programme.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Presenters may be recorded for live streaming. A recording of the presentation and a copy of the slides may be published online after the conference.
  • Submitted abstracts and/or posters may be published in print and online after the conference.
  • It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to communicate with results with other members of the presenting team.
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Abstracts submitted as a presentation type may be changed to a different presentation type by the Programme Committee in order to be accepted and included in the programme.
  • It is the responsibility of the lead presenter to submit the abstract. They will be the main corresponding author whose responsibility it is to communicate with other members of the presenting team.
  • The presenting author(s) is available to present at the conference between 22 – 24 June 2017.
