Dr. Chu is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Duke University Medical Center, Durham NC. Dr. Chu received her medical degree from Columbia University, New York; and completed her residency in Internal Medicine, fellowship in Infectious Diseases, and Master in Health Sciences at Duke University.

Dr. Chu’s research focuses on infective endocarditis. She is the director of the International Collaboration on Endocarditis (ICE), a multisite, multi-national collaboration of investigators dedicated to infective endocarditis research.

Her other academic interest is in education and career development. She is the director of the Clinical Research Study Program for Duke medical students, program director for the North Carolina Collaborative Summer Research Program, Associate Director of Education for Duke’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Award, and Director of the Duke Clinical Research Undergraduate Experience.
